Meet Ruth Weinberg
Whatever brought you here, you deserve a space where you can be honest, be heard, and move towards healing.
That's what I'm here to help you do.
As your therapist, I'm a compassionate listener and a knowledgeable guide. I can be gentle and direct. I know that opening up about life challenges takes courage, and I don't take that lightly. My job is to create a safe space for honest exploration, work with you to find the pace that fits for you and your journey and offer thoughtful, evidence-informed support that leads to the healing you are seeking.
I believe one of the most powerful keys to healing is self-compassion. Real, lasting change begins with learning to meet yourself with kindness (easier said than done!). The work of Brené Brown has been such an influence for me here. Her insights on shame, vulnerability, and worthiness speak directly to what so many of my clients are quietly carrying.
In addition, the work of Dr. Richard Schwartz has deeply influenced how I understand both my own experience and the work I do with clients. Internal Family Systems (IFS) invites a different kind of relationship with the parts of ourselves that can feel hardest to face, creating space for greater understanding and change.
"Therapy doesn't have to feel like hard work to be working. Some of the most important moments happen in the laughter between the hard parts."
-Ruth
Experience and Approach
I’ve been in private practice in Denver for nearly 15 years. I offer in person sessions as well as virtual sessions across Colorado and South Carolina.
My background includes work as a school counselor, substance use counselor for teens, grief counselor, and in-home family therapist. I’ve also worked in hospice, and community-based settings, supporting individuals and families through trauma, loss, transition, and complex life circumstances.
I have extensive experience working with immigrant, minority, and refugee communities, and I hold an awareness of the ways larger systems and lived experiences shape mental health.
In addition to ongoing professional training, I stay engaged in my own therapeutic work—continuing to explore my own patterns and ways of being. While each person’s process is different, this informs how I show up: with care, thoughtfulness, and an ability to recognize the weight of what you may be carrying.

Outside The Office
I'm a Colorado native; however, my absolute favorite place to be is the beach (go figure). I spent years living on both coasts before returning home in 2007.
I love to laugh and be silly - with friends, family and whoever else is up for it!
Swimming laps is where I tend to do some of my best thinking and I enjoy cooking, reading, dancing, playing the piano and spending time with my cat.
